Our History
Established on December 7, 1941, the San Francisco Rose Society is a non-profit, educational charity specializing in rose culture, how to grow and exhibit beautiful roses, arrangement classes, and rose gardening best practices. Between the months of January and November, the San Francisco Rose Society offers interactive programs and lectures, rose garden tours, public displays and monthly rose shows.
The best way to learn about roses is to attend monthly meetings of the San Francisco Rose Society. The meetings are held the second Sunday of each month. Our dedicated members enjoy meeting often for different events and activities. Passion and enthusiasm go hand-in-hand with everything we do. Our door is always open to new members, no matter their experience level. We are proud to bring together people from all over San Francisco and beyond. Come join us at our next event — we’d love to share all that the San Francisco Rose Society has to offer.
